At Linde, we live our mission of  making our world more productive


In 2023 we enabled our customers to avoid about 91 million metric tons of CO2 equivalents (CO2e). We also work safely to continuously improve our own energy efficiency and avoided 800 thousand metric tons of CO2e.

As we improve, we are investing in the communities where we live and work. We hire locally and source most of our products and services in the countries in which they are used. Additionally, we actively support our local communities through employee engagement and volunteerism as well as charitable contributions.

The results we have achieved in making our world more productive have earned recognition by premier sustainability investment indexes (ESG Indexes) and rankings, including the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices’ World Index. ​

Improving Customers' Environmental Performance

Our climate change innovation enables more than two times net greenhouse gas benefit from the use of our products by customers. In 2023, total GHG emissions were 38.1 million metric tons CO2e, versus 91 million metric tons CO2e avoided by our customers or end users, from several applications - 2.4x the GHG benefit created than depleted.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint in Production

We continuously optimize our use of energy and natural resources. We avoided 1 million metric tons of CO2e emissions in 2022 by enhancing the energy efficiency of buildings, processes and the transportation fleet.
